NBD designed, fabricated, and installed the A Story Old as Dirt exhibit for the Swiss Valley Nature Center — an immersive display that brings Iowa’s prairie heritage to life. The exhibit guides visitors through the interwoven narratives of native ecosystems, pollinators, soil health, and human history, connecting the region’s ecological evolution with its agricultural legacy.

Constructed with reclaimed materials, the design embodies the center’s conservation-focused mission and commitment to sustainability. Every element — from the interpretive graphics to the custom-built displays — was crafted to balance education, engagement, and environmental responsibility.
