Industry expertise alone doesn't launch a brand—execution does

UOMO Outdoors was entering one of the most competitive markets in consumer goods: outdoor accessories and apparel. Founder Cody had deep industry expertise—years of working for established brands gave him intimate knowledge of what works and what doesn't. But knowledge alone doesn't launch a company. He needed an outdoor logo design that could hold its own against legacy names like Patagonia and The North Face, and a complete visual system that felt both premium and approachable.

The challenge wasn't just aesthetic. Cody had big ideas but needed a partner with technical expertise to translate strategy into tangible brand assets across multiple applications—from hang tags to patches, printed collateral to branded patterns. He was looking for an outdoor branding agency that understood both craft and commerce.

A comprehensive visual identity rollout built for competition

NBD thrives in this exact scenario: a founder with vision meeting a studio with execution firepower. We started with the fundamentals—outdoor logo design, color palette, and core visual identity elements—then expanded outward to create a comprehensive branding and print design package that would serve UOMO through its entire launch phase.

Collaboration was key. We worked closely with Cody to leverage his market research and industry insights, ensuring every design decision was grounded in both aesthetic integrity and commercial reality. The goal was an elevated customer experience that would make UOMO feel established from day one.

The visual identity rollout was built around the textures and spirit of the outdoors: tree silhouettes, distressed typography, natural color schemes, and bold, heavyweight elements that conveyed both durability and adventure. Every detail leaned into a slightly masculine, rugged aesthetic that would resonate with the outdoor community without falling into cliché.

NBD delivered a full suite of brand collateral:

  • Core logo with scaled renditions for buttons, patches, and
  • apparel applications
  • Branded patterns and graphic systems
  • Hang tag designs and informational cards
  • Accordion-fold brand booklets for retail touchpoints
  • Sticker designs and illustration work
  • Print-ready files optimized for manufacturing partners

The result was a turnkey brand system—versatile enough for growth, cohesive enough to feel unmistakably UOMO.

A brand identity that stands apart in a crowded market

UOMO Outdoors launched with a visual identity that doesn't apologize for being new. The brand feels confident, considered, and competition-ready. Cody now has a complete design toolkit that works across every customer touchpoint, from product packaging to digital presence, giving him the foundation to scale without constantly reinventing the wheel.

More importantly, UOMO stands apart in a crowded market. The brand doesn't look like a startup trying to mimic the big players—it looks like a brand with its own point of view, ready to carve out its own territory in the outdoor space.
